Heavy Vehicle Knowledge Testing
This is the compulsory Knowledge Test component of acquiring your heavy vehicle licence and can be done here at Sutton Road Training Centre.
There are two types of heavy vehicle testing. If you are going for a Light Rigid (LR), Medium Rigid (MR) or Heavy Rigid (HR) licence you will need to pass the Rigid Vehicle Knowledge Test. If you are going for a Heavy Combination (HC) or Multi Combination (MC) licence you will need to pass the Combination Vehicle Knowledge Test.
The 45 questions contained in the heavy vehicle knowledge tests are sourced from two publications:
All questions must be answered correctly for Alcohol and Drugs, Intersections, Seat Belts, Load Restraint General and Heavy Vehicle Work Diary. One question is allowed to be answered incorrectly in each category of Car General and Driving General. Two questions are allowed to be answered incorrectly in each category of and Rigid Vehicle General. In total you are allowed a maximum of four incorrect answers.

The ACT Government has developed online practice tests you can test yourself on before undergoing the official test with us here.
No bookings are required to undertake the Knowledge Test. Just drop into Sutton Road Training Centre between 9:00am – 3:00pm Monday to Friday.
