From February 2022 heavy vehicle driver licence requirements are changing in the ACT to support the safety of heavy vehicle drivers when they get behind the wheel and other road users. From February 2022 all people, regardless of age, who hold or are applying for a Medium Rigid (MR), Heavy Rigid (HR), Heavy Combination (HC) or Multi Combination (MC) driver licence in the ACT must obtain a commercial health assessment at the time of each licence upgrade. Remember, road safety is everyones responsibility.

If you become aware of a long term or permanent medical issue that may impair your ability to drive safely you must notify Access Canberra by emailing rusmedicals@act.gov.au. Failure to notify is an offence.

Its important that we all work together to support safety on our roads. To find out more about the changes and what they mean for you, visit www.act.gov.au/accessCBR
