Heavy Vehicle Licensing (ACT & NSW)

TISC provides a wide range of specialised and custom courses covering the transport and plant machinery.

As a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), TISC is fully qualified to conduct heavy vehicle truck licence training and assessment on behalf of both the ACT and NSW Governments.

Using our facilities and fleet located at the Sutton Road Training Centre, everything is in one place to help you get that truck licence. Our extensive vehicle fleet allows us to cover them all.

We are able to train and conduct assessments in all licence classes from light rigid to multi-combination. We also offer individual and personalised training and assessment services.

Course Details

Full details on our heavy vehicle licensing courses can be found in the following pre-course information sheets. These are specific to each state and licence class and include, but are not limited to, the following details: pricing, duration, units of competency, course pre-requisites and licensing requirements.  To enrol with us, you MUST be competent in driving a manual vehicle as our trucks are equipped with synchromesh and non-synchromesh gearboxes.  You can use your own automatic vehicle, but you need to adhere to the vehicle specifications outlined in the pre-course information.

Please note that NSW licence holders require a minimum of 5 hours training prior to attempting an assessment for Light Rigid and Medium Rigid licence classes or a Heavy Rigid synchromesh gearbox.  A minimum of 6 hours training is required prior to an assessment for Heavy Rigid non-synchromesh gearbox and Heavy Combination licence classes and a minimum of 8 hours training is required for Multi Combination prior to attempting an assessment.  The same timeframes are suggested for ACT licence holders.
