Smoke Free Workplace Policy
Introduction
The purpose of this Smoke Free Workplace Policy is to reduce the risks to health that are associated with use of tobacco and tobacco-based products by staff, students, and visitors to Sutton Road, and the exposure to second-hand smoke.
Scope
This Policy applies to all employees of Transport Industries Skills Centre TISC including all contractors, and the Policy is applicable to all buildings, vehicles, and grounds at 441 Sutton Road Majura ACT also known as the Sutton Road Training Centre and is applicable to all vehicles owned or leased by TISC or Transport Training ACT TTACT.
TISC Management has a duty of care to all employees, students and visitors to the facility to provide a safe, smoke free working environment. This Policy is consistent with the following health advice:

Policy Statement
From Thursday 21 March 2024 the Sutton Road Training Centre is a Smoke Free Workplace and the use of any tobacco-based products are banned. This includes the use of e-cigarettes.
The CEO has overall carriage of this policy. This policy should be read in conjunction with the Transport Industries Skills Centre Inc. Enterprise Agreement 2020 – TISC Enterprise Agreement 2020.pdf
Roles and Responsibilities
All staff are responsible for complying with this Policy and for ensuring compliance by students and visitors to the facility. Any breach of the Policy is to be reported to the CEO or Business Manager as a matter of priority.
