TLILIC0003 Licence to Operate Forklift Truck
This course is nationally recognised and students who successfully complete the course will obtain a Statement of Attainment with the Unit of competency.
This course aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift truck safely in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements. Competence in this unit, does not in itself result in a High Risk Work Licence to operate this plant.

Note this course is only suitable for students who require a High Risk Work Licence to work in the ACT. We can not offer NSW High Risk Work Licences. See the Course Prerequisites section below for further information.

Two days onsite training from 8:00am – 4:30pm.
The course comprises of the following key topics for operating a forklift truck:
- Conduct pre and post operational checks
- Implementation of traffic management plan in accordance with workplace procedures
- Identify risk control measures for hazards and implement control measures
- Conduct operational checks and report damage or defects
- Monitor load operations to ensure stability of load and avoidance of hazards in accordance with safe work procedures
- Respond to unplanned and or unsafe situations in accordance with safe work procedures
- Understand general operation, machine shutdown and appropriate storage

- Have a moderate level of English language, literacy and numeracy (the assessment is written in English and a translator is not permitted). You may be required to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment prior to enrolment
- Have basic ability in mathematics for formulas and calculations
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Reside in the ACT or Queanbeyan geographical area (If you live outside of the ACT you will need to provide a business letter or a statutory declaration stating you require training from us as we are either the closest provider or you require it for your employment in the ACT region)
- Complete the compulsory e-Learning program prior to the course date to ensure you have the required background knowledge to participate in this course
It is your responsibly to ensure eligibility prior to enrolling – please read the Access Canberra Application for High Risk Work Licence form first.
Upon successful completion of this course you will need to present your Statement of Attainment and assessment pass checklist at an Access Canberra shopfront to apply for your licence.

If you attend without having completed the compulsory eLearning activities, you will not be allowed to participate in the course. This may incur an additional booking fee to be rescheduled on a course at a later date.
Any cancellations made less than 7 days prior to this course commencing will not be eligible for a refund. Failure to attend training on the day will also not result in a refund.
Sutton Road Training Centre at their sole discretion may offer to rebook the student on a later course upon the presentation of a medical certificate.
