Rules for the Use of the Sutton Road Training Centre Facilities by External Users
The following rules are provided for the information of all users of the Sutton Road Training Centre SRTC in accordance with clause 6 of the Hiring Agreement. The Sutton Road Training Centre is a purpose built driver training centre whose mission is to develop safer drivers and road users within the Australian and International communities and to promote sustainable safe driving practices and attitudes – Safer Roads Safer Drivers.
SRTC is not a race track and any form of racing is strictly prohibited. SRTC is not a motor sport facility and any form of motor sport is not allowed. The following points are to be adhered to at all times:
General
- All vehicles intended to be used at SRTC must be have a current state or territory vehicle registration and all vehicles must be in a road worthy condition
- A vehicle used in any activity must not be excessively noisy. Any vehicle that appears to breach this rule will immediately be withdrawn from all activities
- Any form of ‘burnout’ is strictly prohibited
- A drivers briefing must occur, outlining these rules prior to the conducting of any activities
- Any inaapropriate or unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated
- Approved seat belts must be worn at all times
- Refueling of vehciles within SRTC is prohibited
- All persons entering Sutton Road Training Centre may be subjected to drug and or alcohol testing
Anti-skid Training Circuit
- Water is to be placed on the Anti-skid Training Circuit from the installed self-watering system prior to any activities being conducted
- The use of detergents, oils, or any other substance on the Circuit is prohibited
- Excessive speed is to be avoided
- Driving on the grassed area surrounding the Circuit is prohibited
- Unless otherwise authorised in writing by the CEO, only one vehicle at a time is allowed on the Circuit
Training Track
- No racing or close proximity driving on the Track is allowed
- If more than one vehicle is on the Track they must circulate in the same direction unless otherwise authorised by the CEO in writing
- Heavy brake testing is only allowed on the designated section of the main straight
- The use of detergents, oils, or any other substance on the Track is prohibited
- When using the Track all vehicles MUST NOT leave the bitumen surface for any reason. Gravel and dirt kicked up onto the Track can become dangerous for other vehicles using the facility.
Vehicle Manouevring Area
- The Vehicle Manouevring area VMA is a low speed training area
- Any form of wheel spin, sliding, skidding is strictly prohibited
- Severe braking is prohibited
- All traffic cones and any other training aids are to be removed from the VMA and stacked appropriately when not in use
These Rules and any additional rules imposed from time to time by the CEO are to be stirctly followed at all times. Any person found to be breaching any Rule/s may be asked to leave SRTC immediately.
